Default Thoughts on this TV, are there any better options

Smallish apartment, will probably not mount on the wall, will be using it as a 3rd monitor so I can watch movies, tv shows, porn from my computer.

If you already have a decent tv you could just buy a DVD player with DivX capability. You can fit a lot of stuff on one disc and they're super cheap.

Aye, I may do that, but I have a [censored] tv, hence the upgrade.

I have the 32" model and am very pleased with it. I've occasionally used it as an additional desktop monitor and the output from the PC is super crisp and clear.

I have the 40" version of this. Great TV in most regards, but I've had problems with black levels and DVDs. Shadowed areas tend to go nearly black - when I crank the brightness all the way up my DVD player, then the dark areas start to look pixely and banded. This may be nearly unavoidable with most LCDs though, and I haven't taken the time to do a proper calibration yet.

I've only used the VGA input with my XBox, and it looks really washed out, and for some reason I don't have as much control over the picture settings when in PC mode (vga input). I think this may be a known issue with the xbox vga adapter, though.

Is the chick included?

There are better options esp. since it isn't even 1080i.

What made you choose LCD over plasma or DLP? I am also in the market for a TV around this price range but I've found DLP to be the best bang for the buck at a minimal footprint cost. DLP also never has the problem of looking pixelated and from what I can tell the blacks are deeper.
