Default Betting Baseball by M. Murray

Anyone familiar with this text? I have been studying it and am having trouble with one of the calculations.

Specifically the section where he talks about 'guestimating' the power rating of an indidvidual pitcher. It just doesn't jive and either I missed a part in the book on how to calculate this or it is a flaw in his method. He even mentions a league average and I jsut can't figure out where he gets the numbers from.

Any help or anyone that can discuss this with me? PM or in this thread is cool with me.

Thanks.

I have neither read nor heard of this book before. I'd be interested in hearing your comments on it, particularly on the author's overall methodology, if you don't mind sharing.

Well, I just received a reply to my email to the author. That says something in itself.

I will report back once I have ran through some calculations and let you know what I think on the methodology.

Thanks, and fortunately the computer virus was just a false postitive picked up by my scanner.

I've taken a month off from baseball because it was getting to be too much of a grind. I may start capping again in a week or so, but if/when I do I probably won't make as many writeups as I used to... it was just too much of a time drain.

Hope you had a good month...
