Default Possibly developing RSI in my wrist - help!

I use the lightest mouse I could find (with a cord, no batteries). It has a high resolution, and I set my pointer speed to maximum to minimize movement. Alas, sitting behind my computer the whole day still starts to take its toll. Mostly the multitabling.

Problem is, I don't really want to give up the multitabling long-term - I've taken many breaks (mainly due to running bad) and the pain (if you can call it that - still early stages) always got less, but if I get back at it it comes back. WTF do I do about it? Is there like a 'perfect solution' mouse that will allow continuting heavy computer usage?

How do other high-volume players deal with this? What about gamers? I have considered a trackball, but whenever I've used one (few times in my life) I was always a LOT slower and less accurate. Is this something you get used to?

FWIW I think the rest of my setup is, ergonomics wise, pretty decent. Keep my wrist straight etc.

How hard would it be to switch to your opposite hand and use the mouse? I'm horrid with my left hand and I just switched and think I could use the mouse pretty well with it...it might take a little getting used to, but you really need to give your wrist some time off if it's hurting like that and that would be one good way.
