it depends on how the game is...if you have a regular crowd, and the table will be full and fairly active, you could expect between $1500 and $3000...Assuming that the game runs at least 5-6 hours, and it's not a complete rock garden...And yes, the standard rake is just like a casino, 10% up to $5, but if you rake you should provide food and drinks for free...

yeah...but that's assuming all those factors come together...I would say a $1000-$1500 is the bottom line at least over 3 nights, but it could be a lot more...that's all assuming you have a regular game with good cash flow, though.

You should expect for the game to get raided and for the hosts to be charged with a felony for running an illegal for-profit gambling establishment. And all the money anyone brings to get seized, and the players at least ticketed if not hauled away. Or it'll be 3 goons in ski masks who do approximately the same thing, without the felony charges.

On the other hand, the $50 to $100/hr that rake will generate per table will help pay for the lawyers.

And yeah, this topic probably is better suited to the home poker forum.

Thats why you play at the same place as me. When the sheriff plays the game its alot less likly for the cops to show and the bad guys probably wouldnt be too crazy about it either.

My question is who would go to a raked home game. The whole point of paying a rake is that in return for making the casino money they offer you a game you know is legit and an environment you can feel safe in. You don't really get any of that in a home game.

Plus, you know, next week the 9 guys could just do it at one of their own houses for free. Or like $5 each for beer money.

EDIT: "Loc: Duke" Hmmm... the University? NM then the local prosecutors have better things to do. Just no strippers, ok?

not everyone lives within a reasonable distance from a casio.
raked home games usually have house dealers which makes the games more legit IMO though also makes them illegal.
