Technical question: PS2, New TV
Just upgraded my TV from an old tube to a 60 inch DLP and now a) PS2 graphics are terrible to the point where it's barely playable and b) there is a good 1/2 second delay. Any ideas?

Re: Technical question: PS2, New TV
Scratch the above post- for large TV's you NEED component video to make the PS2 remotely playable. I but the genuine Sony ($$$ Ripoff) one last year and it wasn't more than 40 bucks. The difference between S-Video and Component at that scale is very significant.
And even with all that, a lot of PS2 games are just going to look like [censored] on a good, big TV. Might as well get used to it, and start saving up for PS3. |

Re: Technical question: PS2, New TV
1) PS2 graphics are tolerable on a 35" screen. On a big screen, it looks like crap. Nothing you really can do except wait for the PS3 (or get an XBox 360).
2) DLPs are infamous for having sync issues, which is the main reason I haven't bought one yet. Google for it and you'll see a lot of articles complaining about sync. |

[ QUOTE ]
this is going to be the kind of thing you want. I would check sites like monoprice for cheaper ones. amazon [/ QUOTE ] Uh, definately not. However you are going to want a component video cable for your PS2. aka http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0000524PB If you've already got component cables, time to buy a 360 or hold on for the PS3 (or both). Black on my 42" toshiba looks fantastic, so I'm going to suspect its some combination of not having component cables and/or a specific game. Some games definately look better than others. |
