is there normally overlay in this tourney? is this what we can expect from bodog/fulltilt/stars/ub?

i need to know whether or not i need to bring my laptop to my parents this evening.

I haven't seen this kind of overlay ever....bar the ipoker 1 mill guaranteed. Definitely take your laptop [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]

meh, i dunno

looks like bodog will get ~500-600 which means your $100 entry fee is worth $200, with 100% ROI you're looking at $400

stars needs 3k people in the next 1.5 hours to meet their gaurantee, i think they'll get another 1.5-2 so that's about 20% overlay for their mill. which is only an extra $100 in EV

If the same numbers are expected for UB and FT, meh, not worth it for me.

edit: unless for some reason i can't put my finger on overlay increase EV exponentially... my intuition makes me think it might but i can't figure it out.

one reason might be that the prescence of an overlay encourages weaker players (like me) to enter

It's actually pretty good (if you disregard the microscopic antes), 20 min levels and 5k starting stack as opposed to 3k regular, standard blinds.
