Default Non-fiction book recommendations?

I never have any idea what interesting books are out there. I guess I'm mainly interested in psychology/self-improvement type books.

Here are some books that I've really enjoy recently.
Evolve Your Brain link
Satisfaction link
and Blink link

Can anyone cater other recommendations to me?

Along those lines, read "Freakonomics by Stephen Levitt. similar to Blink in style and topicality.

I recently read "The Progress Paradox" by Gregg Easterbrook. I thought it was very good. I like the way Easterbrook writes and it is a very optimistic book.

You may have read it before, but How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie is one of the best books ever written regarding how to interact with people. It is interesting and worth its weight in gold with advice.

Hello everybody. This is my first post so I thought I should post something useful.

First of all,I strongly agree with Bobb. How to win friends and influence people is a must on human interactions.

Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill.It is considered the book that has inspired the most people. You will need to read it slowly and many times.

As a Man Thinketh by James Allen.Over a hundred years old but it can truly help you look inside yourself.

Chicken Soup fot the Soul by Jack Canfield and Marc Victor Hansen. Not on self development but these stories will lighten your heart.

Since you are interested in self improvement you could visit the sites of Jim Rohn and Brian Tracy. You may find interesting books or audio programs there. If I remember anything else I will post again.

unless you're completely insane, don't bother with the full version, which is three volumes.
the abridgment is heavy enough and will do the trick.

I recently saw Steven Levitt speak; he came to my school and he signed my copy of the book
