How do we stop button stealers?
PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $1.00 BB (7 handed) PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $1.00 BB (7 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver Cards)

Flop: ($12.50) , , [color=#0000FF](2 players)</font> [color=#CC3333]Hero bets $1</font>, [color=#CC3333]Button raises to $6</font>, Hero calls $5. Turn: ($24.50) [color=#0000FF](2 players)</font> Hero checks, [color=#CC3333]Button bets $10</font>, Hero calls $10. River: ($44.50) [color=#0000FF](2 players)</font> Hero checks, [color=#CC3333]Button bets $32</font>, [color=#CC3333]Hero raises to $45.6</font>, Button calls $13.60. Final Pot: $135.70 Right or wrong I like to limp with suited connectors in late position. I think it was Matthew Hilger (in his second book) that opened my eyes to button and cutoff steals. It has helped my bankroll by stealing when the situation presents itself. Now, however, it seems like almost every limped hand ends with a late position raise to 3-5X BB. Without a solid hand history on players how do you read this hand? Villian is 38.46 / 12.82 over 39 hands. |

Re: How do we stop button stealers?
First of all, limping is okay, but raising is far better. Search anything in the sticky for reasons why.
Minbetting this flop is atrocious and calling the raise is even worse. Then you get a pair and go into station mode and check/shove the river when a heart comes.. what are you doing? |

Re: How do we stop button stealers?
I don't think this has to be a steal from the button, to me it's rather a normal PF raise as there are already two limpers in the pot.
I would've raised PF, too, as thac mentionend. As played, I don't mind a PF call but fold on the flop, no sense in continuing this hand with a gut shot and a backdoor FD only... |
