Is this a fold?
Live 2/5 full ring.
Hero($600) in CO with AQo Villian ($700) in BB. Seems to be a tight player but has only played 2 orbits and came from a broken table. Folds to Hero raises to $20. Button, SB and Villian call. Flop: Q [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 4 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] ($80) Hero bets $65 Button folds SB folds Villian calls Turn: A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] ($210) Villian checks Hero bets $150 Villian calls fairly quick. River: 7x ($510) Villian immediately bets $250 Hero? ($365 left) |

2/5 live? [/ QUOTE ] Uh..yes? As for the hand... I think this IS close, actually, but still a call. This call/call/bet line is usually a busted draw or a monster like KT or a set, poorly played either way. I'm only seeing T9 or maybe AK as draw-ish hands that play it like this. Then again, it's live, so this could just be some weirdly played two pair or whatever random crap. So, yeah, call, as you're getting 3:1 and you're likely good enough here in the long run. As far as your odds of being ahead in this actual hand? I wouldn't feel great about it. |

[/ QUOTE ] Poorly played by who? Villian or Hero or both? I actually wanted to make the title, "is this EVER a fold?" Actually in this hand i was Villian and i think i messed this hand up a bit. I had K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]10[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] BTW. (so i had the nut flush draw on the turn as well as the nuts) The mistake i made is the river. Instead of pushing all-in i made a bet that could have been interpreted for value rather than a possible busted draw. Beyond missing out on the additional $115 i think the line i gave is one that he could possibly get away from IF he knew how i typically played. The guy instacalled and right away a player at the table who knew me said bad call he has K10. After thinking about the hand i was wondering if that river bet of mine might have allowed a good player to actually drop his AQ here. BTW the only hand i will ever have here with how it's played would be K10. I would never have a set here with how this is played. Any comments on any of the other streets for me? Anyone pushes the turn? (i think that would be wrong) Does the instant turn call and instant river bet look like a bluff? [ QUOTE ] As far as your odds of being ahead in this actual hand? I wouldn't feel great about it. [/ QUOTE ] Well he sure didn't feel great about it and told me how lucky i am (which on this hand i won't disagree since the A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] was the absolute best card to fall for me). And ironically he told me on the flop that $65 was cheap and that i should call. |
