Protecting your hand when turn card is NOT safe
Ideally you plan to raise if the turn is a blank. But how do you proceed when it actually is a scare card?
i.e. In position w/ J [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]J [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. Board is 9 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]8 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]2 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]7 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. Pot is big and faced with a bet. Any ideas appreciated. Thanks. |

Re: Protecting your hand when turn card is NOT safe
this isnt a strategy forum but if they bet into you just fold.....if you have a hand like KxKc you can raise.....or if you get checked to you can bet and check river.....poker 101

Re: Protecting your hand when turn card is NOT safe
I dunno, but you should protect your hand from even gettin to that turn. I usually raise enough on the flop as to give them bad odds for calling to hit a draw, so if they called and hit that club flush then its their mistake.
Personally, I would check, if they raise assess the situation. If you decide to stay in and see the river, re-raise, if not fold. |

Re: Protecting your hand when turn card is NOT safe
Hopefully you know generally what the players are holding. Most players play a combination of big cards and medium cards.
If there are three players in the hand with you and they have all shown hands with medium cards or suited cards, you can not know where they are at. If they have only shown down big cards you can be more flexible. |
