Am I reading this right, Vince got fouled on 2 different 3 point attempts wiht less than minute to go?? Feel your pain, I was on Spurs -8.5, saw the score with a few minutes to go and it seemed in hand. Then saw they won by just 5.. now i know how [img]/images/graemlins/mad.gif[/img]

Its got to rate up there pretty high for worst beat for many people. How often do you have 21pts pad with 39 seconds left and not think for sure you have the game won.
Even so got to pretend you didn't watch the game. It goes both ways in time, next time that happens maybe you will have the over.

Last night my biggest play of the night was the Celtics under 211. The game scored 115pts in the first half and generally when the Celtics are down in a game the second half scores a lot higher. Ended up winning this bet with ease with a 77pt second half. Again it goes both ways.

Well - the worst beat I ever SAW happened about 20 years ago - before I grew up, went to med school and got locked in to my life, I was going to school in Reno, working nites in a sportsbook (Cal-Neva) - a real toilet, which is a real toilet today.

One of our favorite customers was Kenny the King - his father owned five or six bowling alleys in Buffalo - Kenny would work for his dad, building up a bankrole, and come out to Reno to bet sports. Slept in his car so he wouldn't have to pay for a hotel room. Always in the same clothes. And totally the WORST handicapper in the world.

His beat came in a college BB game - SEC - I don't remember the teams - might have been Alabama and Tenn. The exact facts I've long forgotten, but I remember how it came down.
He was getting seven, up two with three seconds left. His team had the ball, inbounding. As the ball is thrown in, his player is hacked, brutally - the ref swallows his whistle, but HIS team still gets the ball back. Now there is ONE second left, he's got the ball and +7 with a two point lead.

So of course, one of his playes gets a technical.....then an assistant coach gets TWO....and the head coach gets one...and another player gets one...and the freaking ball boy or someone gets a couple.....and the other team goes to the line and makes 10 out of 11......and he loses by 8.

Surprisingly, he didn't kill himself.

And I don't want to hear any more crying about bad beats....

Yup, and both times by Bowen, on his 'strip the ball low on the way up' slap move. Carter did a great sell job with em, too.
