Re: (39) TT River Value?
(02:13:47) Alex: i dont know that id bet the river
(02:13:50) Alex: i may just c/c that river (02:13:52) Alex: but (02:13:55) Alex: i think u need to fold (02:13:58) Alex: thats so often an 8 (02:14:00) Alex: it might be a bluff (02:14:04) Alex: but like im not sure how strong TT is there (02:22:44) MikeyMcQ1: you don't think something like TT, 99, 77, and idiot Ax, call a river bet? (02:25:59) Alex: perhaps, but you also inrease their bluffing chances if you check, and they usually wont raise without having you beat you would think (02:26:03) Alex: perhaps some of the time (02:26:09) Alex: so i feel like checking has similar value (02:26:19) MikeyMcQ1: k. good, I agree... |

Re: (39) TT River Value?
The only way that checking would help you out is if he has a missed flush draw, which is very likely considering that he just called the flop and then checked the turn.
He also might have flopped trip 8's and filled up on the turn, which would make sense for the check. But I would say that a mid pp is the most likely scenario, a bet of 250 would be a good idea, if he raises he clearly has the boat, but its very borderline whether a check or value bet is the better play here |

I like enducing a bluff from a missed draw here.

Re: (39) TT River Value?
I think a $250 to $350 bet is acceptable here. You have to represent the 8 if not the 6 for the boat. You checking will only show's weakness and a missed flush draw has to bet to try and take it down. Then if he bets like $250 you are calling blind, have to through it away, or move in blind. A bet is the only option here, even though you might be beat.

Re: (39) TT River Value?
Any reads? I think most of the time check/calling is the best move here. If villain is a big bluffer, I always check/call. If villain bets his big hands but check/calls with marginal hand and checked the turn I would bet for value. If villain is tricky, I check because I don't want to be raised all in. I'd also like to know if villain would limp pf with JJ or connectors. My guess is you're looking at 99, 77, 55, or a suited A here most of the time. 99, 77, 55 will probably look you up.
