$300: 100-200 with 55, two limpers, and a 2k stack - Dead money=mine?
Limpers are 47/26 and 34/6 7-10 handed through insignificant sample size, I havent seen them enough to make notes on showdowns or how they are bad, so I just know they are bad from their stats
700 in dead money is hard for me to resist with a 2k stack, this is probably below the bottom of my range (if that makes sense) but I felt the 47/26 would raise if he had anything that he would call me with, unless he is trapping with a monster (lags are usually the ones who limp big hands) and the other guy just finds limping enjoyable. Is 700 enough of an overlay + my FE to make this good? I thought so, and I shoved with the intention of posting it Party Poker No Limit Holdem Tournament Blinds: t100/t200 8 players Converter Stack sizes: UTG: t1770 UTG+1: t1940 MP1: t3210 MP2: t1630 Hero: t1910 Button: t4760 SB: t2550 BB: t2230 Pre-flop: (8 players) Hero is CO with 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 2 folds, MP1 calls t200 (pot was t300), MP2 calls t200 (pot was t500), Hero raises all-in t1910 |

I'd consider who's behind you too, but this can't be too bad...super easy with 77, so 66 and 55 can't be a whole lot worse I'd imagine.

in a very tired state, i would guess that this is good with antes and close without.

i fold here for several reasons:
- less than premium hand - 3 players left to act who cover you - you have a pretty healthy stack so i probably push 77, maybe 66 from the button. i'd also like it better if you had 1600 chips (a little less risk for same reward). i will say that these are great guys to shove over because the limp so wide. when you called you will do decent vs their range but 77-99 are probably calling you. |

Fold for the above reasons, plus MP2 is limp/callAI here some of the time.

I think its okay, definitley more on the aggressive side though. The degree to which this is good or okay depends on reads of course.
I wouldn't be too worried about the 47/26, but I am not too sure about the 34/6 as he could be limp-calling with KQ,QJs,77-TT,A7-AT |

Re: $300: 100-200 with 55, two limpers, and a 2k stack - Dead money=mine?
The overlay is adequate if he 34/6 is limping a hand I race with, is it not?
In spots like this, I can race or take it down and have 2600 (or 4k+) ... or the blinds can pass through me, leaving me with 1600 if im lucky and 1450 if they increase to 150-300. For these reasons I like being agressive and trying to seize opportunities like this to pick up chips |
