Middle pair+gs (shorthanded)
.5/1 4-handed
UTG is 84/24, often quite nutty postflop as well. He tends to massively overplay hands. SB is 36.92/6.5/1.68, likes to lead and donk flops but his raises usually represent quite a strong hand. Call to see what CO does and to see how SB responds to what CO does.

Pot is small so I don't see any reason to raise it up. Just call along and see what happens.

Re: Middle pair+gs (shorthanded)
If we call and UTG calls, is everyone raising a safe turn?
What turn cards are we folding rather than raising? |

I don't know about raising. I think it's an interesting spot. On one hand we are offering 5:1 to CO if we just call. On he other hand if we are re-raised we should fold (?), but that gives up a lot of potential outs. On balance I think I would raise though since SB is a big dog to have a 3-betting hand. |

Re: Middle pair+gs (shorthanded)
Consensus seems to be call, and even while I was posting this hand, I wondered why I didn't. I raised.
Flop: 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3SB, 3 players) SB bets, Hero raises, UTG calls, SB calls. Turn: 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (4.5BB, 3 players) SB checks, Hero ? Not crazy about that turn card given UTG's cold-call, but he is really loose. |

Re: Middle pair+gs (shorthanded)
Bet folds. 1. You are not giving a free card to a lone club. 2. You don't really have many/decent outs (whereas if you had many/decent outs, being raised would be much worse)

Re: Middle pair+gs (shorthanded)
So you would call down if you think UTG would semi bluff? What about SB slowplaying his made flush? Dunno, if raised it looks like a case of pretty decent RIO here.
