FTOPS PLO8 hand v. lilholdem
In case you guys dont know, lilholdem is one of the top NLHE MTTers and is very aggressive. That said, I dont know how good his PLO8 play is (I just assume not great). I have just sat down in the past 3-5 hands and have been involved in all of them b/c I have had good hands. I don't know if he knows who I am. Question here is, do I take this gamble here when I am probably behind by some amount?

If you call or raise hes not folding any turn and probably shouldn't be either. I guess stick it in.

Re: FTOPS PLO8 hand v. lilholdem
Part one is to see if you have a read on what Hadrian threw away. Maybe 22wx? Whatever it was, it was worth completing and then flopped something good. Maybe 2 diamonds, one broadway? I doubt it was 99xx. lil looks to have something like A3KQ with nut diamonds, but you're right, with no clear read, and you having run amok the last few hands, this is a tough spot. I would probably feel terrible about it but push, knowing that you need hands like this to make a great finish in the tourney, and that your image is probably that of "lucky fish" and you're getting play back from a dubious NLHE specialist. I'd hope to see him turn up A3T9 with no flush draw.

I dont like your raise. You have to peel one off here every time, but you dont want to escalate the pot at all. Your draw is just ok, but not great. If he has any sort of flush draw he has you in terrible shape. If he has a set he is ahead of you, but its a coin flip. If he has a set and a flush draw, even if its a horrible flush draw, you are drawing almost dead. I would probably fold this because you only have 2k invested and could be drawing close to dead.

By the way great sarcastic contribution. How about next time you prove one of my arguments wrong? |

Re: FTOPS PLO8 hand v. lilholdem
I guess I was worried about what the min-bet meant and wanted to get a better idea where ppl were and get the move fds out. If the guy makes a more std raise, then I will be just calling. I count min-bets as checks

I count min-bets as checks [/ QUOTE ] Move fds out? What does that mean? Min bets can sometimes be viewed as checks, but I usually only view them as checks when the board is dry. If the board is paired and someone min bets, I consider that a check and I think its ok to try and pick it up. The problem is that the board is just so draw heavy. In my experience when people min bet on a draw heavy board they dont fold to a reraise. They were min betting because they were trying to get a cheap turn or something stupid like that. When I raise in this spot I usually get at least called. |

Nobody says he has to shove to the 3 bet. Giving up control doesn't give you any information. The tournament is nearing the bubble and both stacks have significant stacks that are less than him. |

Re: FTOPS PLO8 hand v. lilholdem
You made a reasonable raise, that could have been done even with air in such tournament situation (and such board), but now it looks like you arent in great shape and he isnt folding so let it go. I would estimae your equity around 30-50%, which isnt great considering the fact that at this particular moment you shuld be adding to your stack without showing down hands and not taking bad gambles.
