It's the APC Biometric Pod (USB fingerprint reader/password manager)

I like it a lot and use it in conjunction with KeePass. I guess the downside is if someone steals your finger, you're screwed.

It's a pos. I was able to get into my friend's passwords several times when I scanned my finger and it thought I was him.

generally simple photocopies will even defeat these devices

Yea, and it's so easy for someone to get a photocopy of your fingerprint...happens to me all the time!
