Default Tiger Woods

I think this has more to do with the Golf Forum than the Sporting Forum but if any mods disagree please move it.

How many times has Tiger Woods changed his swing?

Bonus Question: What were the differences between his swings?

(I dont want to answer this question because i am in a little debate and dont want to let my stance be known yet)

Since being a professional he has revamped his swing twice

Once started after his 97 masters win with Butch Harmon. Tiger did many things, namely fixing his arm swing and his shut club face at the top of his back swing.

The other change started with Hank Haney only 2 years ago. Hank is much more "plane" oriented than Butch. Tiger has worked on forearm rotation which was in hope of getting the club more on-plane. However, he has seriously neglected his body motion which is causing him tons of problems. Tiger gave some [censored] about leaving Butch because he felt "stuck". That wasn't true and his current "swing" is much less effective than the way he was swinging the club in 1999-2001

How does he have a flat left wrist at the top of his backswing?

I don't get what you mean. Are you questioning me or how he actually does it?

He left wrist actually gets somewhat "bowed" at the top now do to his excess of left-forearm rotation (clockwise if you were him) in his backswing.

I have a solid image in my head of plenty of swing sequences where his left wrist is flat in relation to the rest of his forearm at the top of his backswing.

I'll try to find some evidence.

Edit: On the cover of Golf Digest May 07 theres a pic of him at the top of his backswing with driver and his left wrist is flat as can be.

And in the sequence in his section of the mag hes got one flat wrist at the top.

I'm not sure what the question is here but thought I'd mention the following. I watched a replay of the '94 U.S. Amateur (TW beat Trip Kuehne 2UP after being down 6 holes in the 36 hole finals at TPC Sawgrass) and they showed a slow motion replay of his swing and the only criticism the analyst had was his left wrist being cupped at the top of the backswing.

In his amateur days, I had a GF that used to work at a putting course and they had signed prints of pros(and him, he was still an amateur). Down the line view, his wrist has no break in it(left). After he turned pro, they got him to get some angle in it and it looks more like the rest of the pros at the top, it is very difficult to get into that position consistently from what I hear, I have never tried or attempted to have any students replicate that.
