How to deal with short finishes
Say after playing 4-5 hours, you place 16th to only win x3 the buyin, when top 7+ payouts are quite large.
I always have problems dealing with this and think about what "coulda happened" if I final tabled, e.t.c. Is this a sign that I am playing above my comfort zone, should I work on ignoring shortcoming? How do pros handle this Tips on dealing with this? |

Re: How to deal with short finishes
on a serious note; this is part of being a MTT player. the difference between huge payday and ohsoclose often rests on one hand late that goes either way.
pretty normal reaction imo. unless of course you're drowning babies and bombing small african countries when you lose. then you might be above your comfort zone. |

Re: How to deal with short finishes
seems like I'll play [censored] the next day after something like this unless I really stay focused.
The important thing to remember is, just keep getting to that point in the tournament and you will eventually run good and get that big cash. |

Re: How to deal with short finishes
We all feel it, just have to accept it and move on.
For me, the real pain isn't finishing 16th or so - the two positions that cause me to lose some sleep are 10th and 9th. 10th 'cause I came so close to the FT, and 9th 'cause it sucks so bad to be the 1st eliminated from the FT, when the majority of FT players have no clue (and it's "easy" to ride up the money ladder...) Re: How to deal with short finishes
There is a quote i heard once "to be the best you have to know that someone failed".
I try and apply this and be happy for the others who were more successful than me.I also try to be positive in the sense that if i continue to play well and work at it i will have my day....maybe a pipe dream, but it helps me.... |

I usually just bitch and moan and post hands in the [censored] thread. Makes me feel a little better.
