25 NL flop trips, enough value?
Villain is decent reg, certainly not calling too much. Should I have bet more on turn and river, because an A is likely to call?

Re: 25 NL flop trips, enough value?
IMO you played this super bad. I am betting 2.25 on flop, and will bet close enough to pot on turn to set up a river shove without it looking way overboard.

I appreciate your comments, one learns most from harsh criticism. Just trying to find my way in cash. Still find it hard to find amounts for betting.

Re: 25 NL flop trips, enough value?
Bet sizing is fine, you could bet 3/4 pot on flop, but I usually bet 1/2 on dry boards like this. The mistake is checking the turn. You have position, so there's no reason to slowplay.

Re: 25 NL flop trips, enough value?
Bet at least $2 on flop, and bet 2/3 pot on turn, but he's probably folding an Ace here..
If you check turn, which you did, you need to bet about $4.50 on river to get more value b/c he may think you were floating the flop since you checked turn. . |

Sometimes i'll throw a half pot size C-bet with air against a tight opponent because they will usually fold, but if you have a hand you want some value. Need to go at least 2/3 pot here, 3/4 recommended. This guy calls flop with Ax, Jx, KQ maybe, pocket pair. I think this range calls for a turn bet, and of course a good value bet on river. |
