Default Ukraine Vs Saudi Arabia

Ukraine coming out of the gate well. Nothing like a 4th minute goal when you have the over.

How many times has a team lost their opening game by at least 3 goals and still advanced to the next round?

Both Ukraine and the US look like they could do it.

Last time it happened was in 1994, I think it's only happened like 3 times.

probably never...or at least none since the field went to 32.

the US, though, probably only has a 10-20% chance of advancing (odds of Italy winning outright * odds of us winning outright)

edit: I guess I'm partly wrong

This seems way off, though I haven't really paid attention as much as most people. What do you put the independent events at?

i give the czechs a small edge over italy (52/48ish) and ghana a largish edge over the us (60/40ish). both the czechs and ghana will be highly motivated, and italy are always overconfident.

Schevy scores. I'd love to see the Ukraine get a positive GD after this game
