Noob B&M question for the Micros
So I'm going be home in Washington this weekend which happens to be across the street from the Muck. I'm interested in trying out the poker room there but have some questions:
1. What is the typical by-in for the 3-6 game? 2. How are the games there on an average Friday night? 3. Anyone in the area interested in mocking me in real life? |

Re: Noob B&M question for the Micros
1. One rack, same as the 4-8 (with the major difference that one rack is actually almost enough for 3-6). (Edit: don't let that stop you from making an actual proper buy-in, though.)
2. Busy as hell. Soft as a baby's tushie. Almost guaranteed 2+ people will be playing almost every hand, and you can plot a bell curve from there. 3. I would offer in a second, but this weekend is booked up for me. |

Re: Noob B&M question for the Micros
I usually just buy in for $200 at a 3/6 or 4/8 game. Makes a nice little 10 stack pyramid and for a while anyway keeps me from having to worry about a re buy which always happens quickly if i buy in short(one rack). As far as the games go think play money but more passive( i have never played there but as a default for a 3/6 game this is usually the case). Be nice to the retards and have a good time.

Re: Noob B&M question for the Micros
My standard buy-in for live 3/6 is $250, of which I use $240 strictly for play and $10 for tokes/tips. 40 BB may be overkill, but if I drop a few pots early, I don't want to look like I'm going bankrupt. I don't like rebuying live.
And if you don't think it's possible to lose 40 BB in a hurry, you're dead wrong. Live 3/6 players are dumb as bricks and looser than a Tijuana crack whore. You will see plays of gobsmacking stupidity. You may be on a variance rollercoaster. Here's hoping yours is on the way up. |

Re: Noob B&M question for the Micros
The typical buy in of $100 is typical for other people. I'd buy in for two racks. I bought in for 3 the first time I played 4/8 live, but that was pretty dumb, and made me stand out.
