Default Odds Questions

I probably sound stupid for asking these questions but I just want clarification because I think I am playing way to tight. I am new to MTT's and I think that my excessive tightness is costing me chips early on. These are No-Limit tourneys $1.20 on stars.

Situation #1: Very passive table lots of callers, no real reads on players, except for the fact that there are very few raises and your opponents to your left are unlikely to raise after all these limpers, you are dealt Q6s in middle position. You are getting 3.5-1 odds, call or fold? If you call what would be the minimum starting hand you would call with from middle position getting 3.5-1.

Situation #2- You are dealt ten duece suited on the button getting 9-2 odds. Do you call. And also same question what would be the minimum starting hand to call getting 3.5-1 odds in late position. And also does 9-2 odds make virtually any marginal hand playable.

Thanks for the responses.

Situation 1: Stay away from hands that are easily dominated, such as Q6. Those hands you are more likely to lose money with while finding out it's second best. The hands I would call with in that position: Suited 1 gappers, any pocket pair, and AJ, KQ, or better.

Situation 2: I feel a lot of hands are playable with odds and the button, but I still feel this hand is too weak, and any favorable flop for you is either very unlikely (two pair), or likely to have a better hand out there (top pair).

Both situations depend a lot on how deepstacked you are.

I think you really just want to know what hands you should jump into big multiway pots with early on. This is all a matter of preference. Hands like T2s and Q6s don't do much for me.

With a lot of limps when I'm on the button, I like any suited connector or gapped connector to limp in with and any pocket pair obviously. If the table is playing very weak postflop, you could open it up to any suited hand or any connected offsuit hand.
