UK Welcomes New High Stakes Poker Series for 2007
October 12, 2006

Although there are already a great deal of poker television shows on the air, the demand for the shows never seems to end. London's The Fifty Casino is to help quell the never ending need for televised poker in 2007 with the announcement of "The Million Dollar Cash Game".

The show, like many others, pits the greatest names in poker together to play for a Million dollars. The familiar concept, perhaps mostly similar to GSN's "High Stakes Poker", will begin filming in January, 2007 and will air in May of 2007 on the network; All In Sports.

The series will feature such high profile poker players as Phil Ivey, John Juanda, Marc Goodwin, Mike Matusow, Tony Guoga, Erick Lindgren, among others. Every player pays a $100,000 buy-in. The show is being hyped as Europe's largest ever cash poker tournament.

There's a lot of these episodes uploaded on Youtube, it was amusing seeing Siedel suck out on Matusow with his aces against Matusow flopping TTP on a board of T 8 2, then they get it all in and Siedel catches running 7's on the turn and river. This one

That was great. Especially when he keeps talking afterward he wanted insurance becuase he runs so bad- after *we saw* him refuse Tony G's insurance offer and tell the dealer to run it just once.

And that guy Paul Kemsley was donking it up more than Farha, Elezra, and Gold combined.

I really do dislike the whole setup of the show, something just doesn't feel right about it when watching. Maybe they'll change the layout a bit if/when they get a second season of it.
