Re: WSOP Tunica Report
"but decided I did not want to race in level three without a reason."
TT vs AK with additional dead money is not really a race is it? Results would have been the same as it turned out, but if you truly thought he had AK, going all-in preflop would not have been a bad play. What if he had AJ, AQ, AT, KQ and you force a fold? What if he had AK and the other guy had QJs or JTs or AJs? A better reason to call would be the potential he actually had you beat before the flop, in addition to your "coin-flip" situation. I would have gone all-in, especially since he was in late position probably meaning a wider range of hands, and you had the extra caller. Tough break on the last hand. Those are the reason I can only play tourneys infrequently. Too much heartache. |

Re: WSOP Tunica Report
Thanks for the thoughts. I do not regret the last hand, that crap happens. It is another hand that does not change as he would have reraised with AK preflop and I would have gone with the 10s there.
As far as the earlier 10s, I actually thought that the button caller may also share an ace, maybe two additional over cards. When he folded to the 700 on the flop, I felt that it was a very good situation for me. In my opinion, it was a "safer" way to get chips than a preflop all-in. It is probably the more interesting of the two hands. Thanks again. Grip |

Good read - thanks for sharing!
As I will play the Shootout on Monday (which will be my first WSOPC event) may you give some more information about the tournament itself? Is it well organized? General quality of players and such stuff... Thanks Shadow |

Re: WSOP Tunica Report
The WSOP structure is not bad. The $500 events start with T-1500 in chips and 50 minute rounds. The WPO may be better, the WPO satellites are definitely better, and the fields may be smaller.
The staff at both tournaments are again overwhelmed, so going and expecting perfection is a recipe for disappointment. Give the staff at either location the benefit of the doubt and enjoy your trip. Grip |
