Default Showboataments this Saturday in AC

Once again, Reecelights and I will be shipping it at the Showboat in Atlantic City. We'll be there on Saturday 1-20 for the 11am, 2pm, and 7pm tournies. I'm the goofy looking one:

Wow I didnt even know they had 3 tournaments. What happens if they run past their time into each other? I played the morning tournament once and we got to the final table around about 2:30.

They only have 3 now? It used to be 4: 11, 2, 7, 11.

They have late buy-in up to one hour past start time. By then they are down to one or two tables and usually have enough space. I've seen them place tourney tables on the cash game side of the room before on holiday weekends with heavy traffic. They also have done an alternates list when they didn't have enough tables/dealers along with seating 11 handed (Borgata used to do this too).

If I do g00t in the 11am, I don't play in the 2. I'll usually finish around 3 or 4pm, and donk off my winnings at the 1/2 NL tables until 7. It's a vicious cycle.

Cool man, I'm headed to the showboat tomorrow too. I won't be wearing the hat, though.

What's the best strategy for those Showboat tournaments? I've tried playing it slow while the blinds were small, and I was publically declared to be an ultra-conservative version of Action Dan, and no one ever played with me. As my luck would have it, just as the blinds got high enough for me to take advantage of my table image, the table got broken up, and I fell victim to the crapshoot. Did I have the correct approach to that tournament?

When I played the whole table was rather conservative early on with the exception of this one kid drinking tequila sunrises and saying everyone was bluffing. I took down a good amount of pots preflop and on the flop just by betting whenever it was checked to me.

Once we got down to 3 tables however, it loosened up alot and people were more willing to gamble. Sadly I learned that the hardway and manged to get to the final table with about 4 big blinds and was the first person out
