I've read many posts where many of you experienced micro-players talk about seat selection. But how do you go about selecting your seat on sites that don't allow for data mining like PokerStars?? You don't know who're you're sitting next to, even if you've played with many of the players present, until you play a hand and your PAHUD stats show up...

If you've played enough to with a player for them to have a rating in PT (see warnings in threads elsewhere about using autorate), write it into the notes for that player.
Poker grapher and PT have a functions that allows you sort players by vpip also so you could list them before you look for a table, then cross check. |

If you have hands w/someone at stars, their stats will show using pahud before you sit down.
Take notes. Open a Gametime PT window and enter their screenname into it to see their stats. Watch the table for a few orbits to get a feel for how someone is playing. |

If i'm searching for good tables i'm sorting the tables for their avg pot size.
What most of the players on the micro limits forget is to stand up if a table is getting to tight after you have played a while. |

How do you go about selecting your seat on sites like Stars? [/ QUOTE ] Not easy on stars. Try watch a table for a few orbits and identify who is playing like a donkey. Watch for the guy who plays a lot of hands and then plays them passively. Sit to his left if you can and take his money. Avoid sitting to the left of a TAG. |
