Seat 3: Villain (116.55 in chips)

Seat 7: Hero (266.24 in chips)
Seat 9: xxx (23.20 in chips)
Seat 10: xxx (40.00 in chips)
xxx: posts small blind $0.50
Hero: posts big blind $1
Dealt to Hero [ A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] ]
xxx: folds
xxx: folds
Villain: raises to $3.50
xxx: folds
Hero: calls

Hero:

Villain is solid TAG sitting at around 23/13/2.5. Steals blinds OTB, uses position, floats, all that good stuff. What's our play here? CRAI? Lead again? c/c?

15 for me. Your flop bet is weak, he can call with any 2 to see what you will do on the turn.

lead again here. You have to do it with your good hands, so you have to do it with draws too sometimes.

I hate raising/betting on the flop or turn because we are behind anything that calls us.

I would probably fold or 3bet preflop. A7 doesnt play that well passively oop heads up against the type of player you describe.

so it doesn't play well, so you think about 3betting? i'd rather pitch than call, but raising is really bad.

I said passively. when you take the lead you can win the pot on a ragged flop a lot of the time. but I agree that folding is better than calling, like I said in my first post.

3-betting hands like this as a semi-bluff is not at all bad.

You don't want to get called, but if you do you likely have outs vs. 22-KK.
