The only credible hands that beat him are 44 or 99. I would call this river getting better than 2:1

Fold IMO. I think you made it too complicated for yourself by betting the river. You probably could have gotten a showdown for $20-$25 by c/c-ing the river there. This hand screams JT, and I don't think there is much in villian's range that you beat.

...am I the only one thinking that with both UTG and the button limping, a raise with KQo preflop would be a good idea?

...I think the turn is the point where you have to decide you're best or not - raise or fold. I'd fold.

Raise preflop, pot flop , pot turn and you should be allin soon.

edit: as played yeah a check/call river might be preferred, that or bet more and fold to a raise
