I dunno, maybe I'm weak but here goes:
I check behind on the turn and will call all rivers (raise an A), valuebet if he checks and instacall a cr. I loose the minimum against a better hand if he checkraises, I may induce a bluff and he is more likely to call the river if I check behind on the turn. I do know that I am probably ahead or at least chopping very often though, so maybe I loose value by checking behind. Party Poker 3/6 Hold'em (6 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums) Preflop: Hero is Button with 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. 3 folds, Hero raises, SB calls, 1 fold. Flop: (5 SB) Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players) SB checks, Hero bets, SB calls. Turn: (3.50 BB) 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players) SB checks, Hero checks. Edited to say that checking behind like this gives me more respect those times I do bet the turn with say a low pocket or A rag UI. And sometimes I get calls on the river I doubt I would have got had I bet the turn and checked the river. And with a read this would often be an easy valuebet and call down if checkraised. |

I hate giving any heart a free chance at a higher flush. I fire away and thinking checking behind is a mistake.
What to do if raised is an entirely different story. Any reads? |

I dont mind a check on the turn, assuming youre betting the river. The only issue is that a heart can fall, killing your action.
If you check turn and bet river you almost always get called, which is obv good in this situation |

I like a check on the turn with a raise on the turn. I think, however, that an argument can be made against that claiming that we don't have enough equity here for a sexy versus villain's hand range. (i.e. he has a better ace too often).

[/ QUOTE ] I don't think this is true, if anything it makes your turn continuation bets look more FOS since you're checking behind when you have marginal made hands you want to showdown, but betting when you have stuff you can easily fold to a check/raise, be it air or stuff like low pockets or UI Ax. But this is assuming they're paying attention, which they most likely aren't. |
