Default stud/8 - tilt makes you play badly

I was already on tilt after some moran grossly overplayed his buried Aces and won a big pot even though I had a 4-flush and 4-low on 5th and missed everything. So that's my excuse for limping with this hand.

Well you could have salvaged some of the disaster by raising 5th in order to get HU against the guy that appears to have a low which would be absolutely fantastic for you because you have a draw to a slightly better low than what he may have and a better high almost certainly.

I have actually even been raising 4th against some opponents but obv the 8 in the door is tough. 5th is easy raise though as said. I dont understand the river cap either.

I was literally a 5th of the way to vegas before I figred it out also. BTW I have been to the Bike a few times already this summer...so yeah

PokerJans = dumb whale

Anyway after being sent into wild beating my chest monkey tilt after driving for like 90 minutes I finished -600 in literally 20-25 minutes playing 15-30...I WIN! lol I then got a haircut from some Iranian cougar and felt better. meh

[/ QUOTE ]While we're hijacking the thread: did you try any 8/b cash games at the Bike, and if so, what were they like? I have never set foot in a B&M casino in my life, but I was thinking of heading out to the Bike for the $500 stud/8 at Legends of Poker in a couple of weeks. I heard there is a 20/40 game there, which is a bit higher than I'd like to play but, whatever, it's only money, right? Presumably I can expect the cash games to be better on the day of an 8/b tournament?

The 20-40 stud8 was the reason why I was going to the Bike. It would have been my first time however. When I called in advance I was told they actually had two games going. I remember reading awhile ago that the game isn't that great but w/e I thought I would give it a whirl.

I was also thinking about the Legends stud8 tournament. I played a couple of the Mini series tournaments and they had good structures for 150-200ish buy-ins so I think this one will also be good. It starts at freaking 3:15 in the afternoon though so if you go deep you will probably be there till 4in the morning or something. ...And I am probably going to accept a 9-5 tomorrow so that might suck. We will see...

Probably fold third. Maybe raise fourth. Definitely raise fifth. Don't cap the river. Don't play when you're on tilt. You know what you need to do--now do it.

I could stand to heed my own advice....
