Probably. Is it a turbo?

FWIW, I never actually sit out. I just hit the fold button when it is my turn. You never know when you might get a walk.

But you won't get one if you sit out.

No, you can't really sit out. Probably with 50k. I'd still just try to find a couple of small pots to pad my stack. Satellites aren't about reaching a milepost and just sitting out, you gradually shade you involvement in hands down as you get closer to the bubble or your stack gets larger.

FYP.

To the OP,

It is hard to say. I have never played that satellite and have no feel for how quickly people go out and how many orbits you will have to play before the bubble. But my sense is that you are ok to fold and get pretty close.

As you can see though, you got pretty close. Had you been reseated at another table closer to the blinds, you might not have made it.

It was a pretty close call and I think I wouldn't have sat out at your point in the tournament when you posed the question unless I had 50k.

To be honest, you should never actually "sit out". Just manually fold your hands (after a token 2-3 second "tank" to semi-consciously let people know you're still there and that they shouldn't auto-steal).

I'm not a big fan of sitting out, if you're gonna sit out, just stay there ant tighten up like crazy. Play only premium hands with position or something like that. Just with your presence, some of the smaller stacks won't attack you and you might get some free chips.
