Default Was I Wrong here?

single table tourney down to 3 way. I'm the BB with K7sh. Blinds 2k/4k. I have 14k left after posting.

Button Folds. Small blind, who happens to be a friend of mine and an excellent player, is playing this tourney passive contrary to his normal tight/agressive style. Says deck is running super cold.

Anywho, he raises 12k into me. Was my all-in move (basically a call) the right play or horrifically bad as my friend put it? Didn't think I had enough chips to fold.

What's the payout?
How many chips did the sb have?
How many chips does the 3rd player have?

What do you think he's raising with here - range of hands?

sb had 40k
pays out only 1st and 2nd

could be in stealing with just about anything. Turns out he had k3o and my kicker actually played. Go figure

Good read then... I like the push if you believe you likely have the best hand. It's getting down to the nitty gritty and you only have about 3x the big blind.

What was the buy in?

I always hate calling my whole stack off, but in this situation the worst you are probably looking at is 66-33, and you are probably ahead a fair amount of the time...with your stack I think its definately a call, if you had maybe twice the chips as you did its an easy fold because you would have enough hands to find a better spot to get it in

Really can't answer without knowing the buttons stack size also, especially since this is the bubble. The payout also matters, if it's 60/40 70/30 or 90/10.

If the button is really short it's a horrible call.

If you guys are close in chips, it really comes down to what range of hands you think the sb is pushing. Same if you're the shortest stack.

I'd prefer to push than to call, some of it depends on the play if the big stack is putting on a lot of pressure you have to pick and spot and call, but if he's playing passive - I'd probably wait for a push.

Bubble Play
