CRYING CALL FOR HELP

Hello all,
I'm posting this while I am considering never playing again. My main question is has anyone gone on a 60,000 hand downswing of 350BB's and still knew they were playing a good game? I am currently in the longest lasting but not worst(BB wise) downswing of my life playing both 2/4 full and 6-max. NOTHING right has happened in roughly 60K hands. Every session I sit and find 4 decent games and gradually or quickly turn it into a losing session filled with horrific beats and fishouts. I know many of you have had downswings of 350+ but has it lasted over 60K hands? I just can't remember what it's like to have anything hold up. This swing has effected everything from online to the casinos right down to the friendly home tournament. My numbers are 18.56/10.48/3.04 during this downswing, how are these? I just want to throw my laptop out the window and never log on again. Any words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated.

Don't concentrate on your beats and unlucky draws. Maintain the professional attitude and maintain an analytical attitude towards your game.

I've heard of well respected players here going on 100k breakeven stretches. I'm sure your results are a combination of running bad and mistakes. What % of each nobody knows - try posting some blind steal/defending situations you feel uneasy about - you undoubtably could loosen up in those areas based on your stats.

Why dont you take a vacation and then come back and reevaluate your playing? I know that when I go on long stretches of what I consider breaking even or downswings, a good week vacation or even not playing at all helps me and especially when I come back and look at how I am playing.

I kind of get the feeling that you are compounding your feelings about being on a downswing/breaking even if you are still playing this through. There have been worse, but I really do think you can do with a break. In your case maybe even a month.

My numbers for 6-max are 19.7/12.75/3.5. Are any of those decent, and what do these #'s imply that I should do different? Thanks

This sentence indicates three things: 1) You are too tight preflop, 2) You are too passive preflop, and 3) You do not read or post enough. If you want to get better, study more.

These kind of threads scare the [censored] out of me. Ive had 2 300 bb downswings in about 250k hands, but only over about 15k hands. I cannot imagine how Id feel if I ran bad over 60k. The best advice I can give is to post more. Try switching games to NL or SNGS, or O8. Maybe take some time off.

By looking at your numbers, It looks you could loosen up a bit more, but theyre only numbers. Your focus should be on playing your hands as best as you possibly can.

One more thing. Ive found that I always learn more when Im losing, than when Im winning.

60K and -350BB at 2/4 is really bad. You are most likely a losing player so you need to decide if you want to improve and go on or stop playing this game.
