Re: AK SB .25/.50
Slow down on the turn. Why did you 3-bet that?
When he raises the turn, he can beat your TPTK. The Ace on the river only helps you in the case he had J8 (not likely given the action PF). At least you know he doesn't have pocket Aces. Why did you bet/raise the river? |

Re: AK SB .25/.50
Just call down from his turn raise. Calling the flop 3bet/raising the turn line is almost always a big hand. When you made trips on the river, your hand improved, but you didn't pull ahead of anything (save for some wonky 2pair, which is unlikely). Unless you have a read that villain will spew with any random ace, slow down on the turn.

[ QUOTE ] Why did you bet/raise the river? [/ QUOTE ] I didn't put this in OP, but this guy had a tendency to raise draws... a lot. I was betting for value, and to try to get him off the draw in case he hit. [/ QUOTE ] On the river? Also, what hand can he cap with pf that made any sort of draw on the flop? |

Re: AK SB .25/.50
Preflop is fine.
I was thinking why did UTG called your 3bet on the flop, but capped the Turn? Any read on UTG? If he's very LAG, he could have hit his AJ+, or really pushing a flush draw with KQc hard. I would play like the way you did on the turn. However if he's pretty tight aggro, a set might be possible... pocket JJ or AA. QQ, KK is slim, cos he's not afraid of A on the board. I would just bet/call. River raise shows that he is not even afraid of the As. Maybe just check/call would be better. |

Re: AK SB .25/.50
dodinski,
Instead of thinking about the strength of your own hand think about how UTG has played it so far. Give him a pre flop capping range. Then when he raises the turn narrow that range down and tell us how many hands he could have tha you are ahead of given the way he has played the hand up to that point. After you do this you will see how many chips you spewed on the turn and river. If you won this hand outright you ran into a complete idiot so take good notes. |

Re: AK SB .25/.50
nh sean c. Dodinski, not all trips are created equal so you gotta look beyond just the fact that you hit trips on the river.
