Default Kid expelled from school for turning in a DEADLY (BB) gun he found

http://cbs2chicago.com/local/local_story_348001946.html

I can't tell what is dumber, the school board or the reporters that keep on calling this pellet gun a deadly gun.

The school board is definitely dumber. by far. It beinga pellet gun or a real gun shouldnt make any difference here I dont think. but yeah, the news media is stupid to, but then thats pretty much expected.

I hate people

You believe the gun was his, and he decided to turn it in?

When I was in HS a kid owned a truck and had gone hunting the day before. During the hunt a box of shells or whatever had spilled in the cab of the truck and he had thought he picked them all up. While traveling to school the next day one rolled out from under the seat and he didn't really think anything of it but someone reported seeing it in the car and he was immediatly suspended for 2 years.

Kinda pointless but somewhat related story.

A kid in my highschool was a straight A student, boyscout, and was expelled when he turned in a $10 keychain pocketknife during a weekend band trip that was off school grounds. During that same time period a jock left a shotgun in his car. The gun was found and he was asked to go on "sick leave" to avoid suspension so he wouldn't miss the football games.

I believe this story.

I don't believe a middle schooler abandons a BB gun in the school bathroom.

wow, im glad i went to school before columbine ...

things i only got suspended for:
1) bringing pocket knife to school, and showing it off (actually only got detention for this)
2) threatening vice principal via email (this was when email just came out ... i was using a dial in service called "Juno "at the time)
3) the day i get back from suspension #2, i broke into a locker and stole some stuff.

this all happened when i was in 8th grade (also got suspended for fighting ... but thats pretty standard these days as well)

huh maybe I don't fully understand, but what did he get expelled for? Turning in a BB gun he found in the bathroom?

How does that make any sense at all? I guess it proves you have to be a moron to be member of a school board.
