Re: river trap
if you think this is Ax a good amount, or if he bets this river against with an overpair then this is fine. if he wont bet those hands but will call with them, then bet

Re: river trap
Halfpot turn and river. He should raise you with a set because 67 and 2x are unlikely. If you don't do that he's just gonna pot control and maybe not even bet with 88+.
Not really a fan of preflop unless you think this tight guy is gonna pay off a lot, or if you can succesfully c/r bluff him a bunch (or something else to make this profitable). |

Re: river trap
lol at preflop being bad. i don't hate 3betting, etc., but i'd rather postflop be discussed.

Re: river trap
I check raise the flop sometimes. Around 10 outs and some FE make it profitable, but calling looks fine too.
The turn is the trickiest street. This player is just checking behind so many hands that may call a bet, especially since it's pretty hard to put you on a hand. This is a spot I don't mind making a fishy looking bet of $60. Representing some weak bluff or blockish bet that didn't really like the ace, but figures he didn't either. The river is a bet. He has some mediocre made hand that he's just playing a pot control line with. He's checking the turn to call a bet on the river and either check it down if checked to or occasionally squeeze a small amount of value. He's calling a check raise just about never so it's kind of irrelevant. So you have either betting or checking for value. I think he may call $80, but won't value bet anywhere near that (the few times he does value bet!) so I prefer betting the river. |

Re: river trap
grunch
I think he checks behind his overpair too often here. I also dont think he will call a c/r no matter how big. So i like just betting out the river and getting a call more often than he will bet himself. |

Re: river trap
Guys with a 13% attempt to steal in general don't valuebet thin. He certainly ain't betting an overpair to the flop. I can actually see him checking behind here with alot of Ax holdings (its 4 to a straight!).
I'd bet the river myself. |
