Default DEEP stack battle with maniac

This guys stats at the time were 55/9/1.5 with a 33% WtSD % after 760 hands. BUT he was far more tilted than this, playing something like 70/40/5 ...raising almost half the pots and betting and raising constantly postflop or calling down with any piece/draw. My reads:

+ He was an "opposite player": he tended to push weak hands harder (e.g. pot-size donking with draws), but then he would play good hands more passively (e.g. checking behind with AA overs on the River).
+ He would usually limp his biggest hands preflop.
+ He was calling everything down. He called a full flop cb and pot-size turn bet with bottom pair.

On this hand, on the river, he timed down to 2 (seconds left) before shoving.
Thoughts on the hand?

don't think I can fold here but this is a strong line from a maniac/donk even though it looks super bluffy. I think he outflopped you but vs this type of player I find myself callling river for 300 into 500.

Well, he said he acts weaker with good hands and he minraised the flop. That would ring a bell in my head. I wasn't there though and don't know about his level of tiltness. Usually though, that line is SUPER strong coming from that kind of player.

i agree vs villain desribed, his actions are not a good sign for us. I am pretty sure he has a 5 or 88 here more often than a holding we beat. This is a fold, not sure why everyone believes were good here alot. I think of the minraise as a crap hand tryin to steal the pot and slow us down or the nuts. The fact that he open shoves river allows us to weight that min raise more toward the nuts.

Acting weaker with good hands would usually mean calling the flop. The min-raise then check line looks like he was bluffing. I think this is def a call.

I really dont think he has anything but the turn call confuses me. I almost feel like he had complete air and picked up a draw on the turn. Would be sick if he had 67. Nevertheless i am calling just because i think he either rivered you or has nothing. I think any real hand he ships on the turn.

Brilliant read!
He had 76.

Thanks for the feedback. I stand by my play. 88 or 76 seems possible on the River ...but also lots of desperate other random cards that didn't improve.
