This keeps happening...is my c-bet not advised?

They fold so often here, I'd bet more like $5.50 or so but betting on an A-high flop in a 3bet pot folds out so many hands that flat call the 3bet.

Looks fine, and a bit more on the bet might be a good idea but no need to go overboard.
Some days just suck, and it feels like everyone's effing with your cbets. It happens. Other days, they seem to fold 100%, even when it feels like they simply must've hit. |

Re: This keeps happening...is my c-bet not advised?
I don't usually cbet here. Instead I check behind, and then call the turn if he bets or bet myself if he checks again.
The reason is the relative value of your hand in relation to being check-raised. If you're check-raised, TT doesn't look very good anymore. It doesn't look terrible however, like 54s or 33 would, so you hate to fold what might be a winner. Furthermore, even if you're behind your opponent's line doesn't exactly represent a super-class hand. It's very likely that if you re-raise here he will fold. When he does it's a coup, because he often fold the winner -- something like A3o. But if you check-raise in this spot too often you're are leveraging yourself too far, and you'll eventually get burned. Its a very high-variance play. Yeah, so anyway. Just check behind here with TT, call/bet a turn & re-evaluate a river. With a weaker hand you can bet here because you don't really mind folding to a check-raise. Edit: Nevermind all that, I thought he has open-limp/called preflop. cbet here 100%, and the size was about right, too. |
