Should this be a clear 3 bet on the turn because he drew 2 then stood pat on the flop ? Thanks for any help in advance. |

Re: 5/10 2-7 hand
First three rounds are perfect. I argue with myself a lot over what the best river line is in these spots, but there's no reason to blame you for kc.
People make good hands drawing two almost as often as bad hands, and a typical 5/10 player wouldn't play an 87 this way very often. So you can't give a lot more action. |

I checkraise the turn to trap the two-card draw and call down a 3 bet.

If villian checks behind me on the turn I lose value and give Suzy a free draw. Also, even if villian does bet and Suzy improves to a nice 1 card draw she may call one bet then be trapped in calling another when I check raise. She can still face two cold if villian 3 bets but I certainly wouldn't be happy about a 3 bet. Anyone else think a turn c/r is optimal ? Anyone play it differently ? |

Re: 5/10 2-7 hand
After villain pats behind you he can't check anything when you check to him, your hand looks like a super weak hand that will check/fold and he can't give the free draw either. If he pats and then checks behind in a 3 way pot he's just ridiculously bad. And let Suzy draw, she's drawing super thin anyway, and her effective odds suck on the turn since you are checkraising.

Re: 5/10 2-7 hand
First draw check raise is lame and is a long-term money loser. 2nd and 3rd look good. You shouldnt have given or gotten any more action based on this cold-deck, nice to be on the good side of these.

Very often a hand will get capped, hero will stand, villain will stand behind, and he will check it through because he doesn't know the strength of his pat hand, if your more than 75% positive (I haven't done the equity range math, this is a gut estimate) then I am ok with a c/r. |
