Red cowboys on a spade flop
Hey all,
this is my first post in this forum, I have no clue of NL cash games, whereas I played some NL tourneys (online and live). I'm a LHE microstakes grinder. This was the very first hand in a home game with friends, we were havin a good time, lots of booze and fun. We all had €20 which is like 1.2 times $20 in chips in front of us. So, I was UTG and dealt K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. I raised the big blind of .20 to €1, to my surprise all 8 opponents called. The flop came Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (9 players, €9) Now, in LHE I'd probly just bet, fold if it's two back to me, and if it's one raiser HU, I'd have to play poker, I guess. What's my plan in this crazy game? Is an equity edge of 3% enough to bet for value, and if yes, how much? Re: Red cowboys on a spade flop
lol i cant beleive im saying this but is just check folding in an 8 way pot out of line? You can't really bet enough to make good draws fold since you have to be scared of two pair or somesuch, maybe somebody even flopped the flush. Such a bad board for a 1 pair hand in an 8 way pot.

Re: Red cowboys on a spade flop
Check/Fold is probably the best line against 8 players, honestly.
With that many callers, I'm guessing that several of them called with random suited cards. So you could already be drawing dead. There are also all sorts of possible straight draws and two pair. If you are ahead, you're not much ahead. And there are almost no safe Turn and River cards for you. Get out now. |
