($60) AKo on the Bubble, Shortstacked, but one is shorter
PokerStars Tournament, Big Blind is t400 with t25 antes (4 handed) Converter on pregopoker.com
CO is a solid, winning regular at the $60s and I think a winner at higher levels too. He definitely understands pushbot strategy, and is very aggro when he has the chiplead (pushes like 90% of hands). He doesn't have it here, but the current CL has not been abusing it that much. The BB is a multitabler I think, I don't have any real read on him, he hasn't played alot of hands so tight I guess. He seems to want to survive the bubble here. CO (t3325) Hero (t1365) SB (t7495) BB (t1315) Preflop: Hero is in Button with A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] CO raises to t3300 (All-in), Hero ?, |

If he understands push-bot strategy, your hand doesn't fare well against his range. Fold.

Re: ($60) AKo on the Bubble, Shortstacked, but one is shorter
I'd fold for two reasons:
1) CO does not need to push here and with your read, he should be on a very tight range. He's pushing into the big stack with two shorties on the bubble. 2) BB is likely to call with a wide range because he already has more than 1/3 of his stack in the middle. |

Do you think AQ is in his range?

Do you think AQ is in his range? [/ QUOTE ] Yes. But, is AJ? AT I'd say isn't. Something like 99+, AQ+. |

Re: ($60) AKo on the Bubble, Shortstacked, but one is shorter
Well, there is obviously no clear consensus to what the correct play is. Here are my thoughts.
Reasons to fold: 1) SNGPT says it's a fold unless he's pushing looser than 18%, which I believe he isn't. 2) BB is likely to call with a wide range because he already has more than 1/3 of his stack in the middle. 3) BB is in SB next hand, so he still has a good chance of getting in a confrontation before the blinds hit him. 4) You can survive another round of blinds. Reasons to call: 5) SNGPT isn't completely accurate with short stacks, so this could be closer than it appears. 6) If BB doubles up, you're in trouble and will be looking back wishing you called here. 7) Even if you can out wait BB here and slide into money, you'll be crippled. I probably missed some arguments there. But, I guess the question is how to balance all these different factors? Which ones are the dominating factors? I think 1,2 and 6 are the most dominate factors. But, does that make this a call or a fold? Obviously I still lean towards folding, but can find arguments for calling. So...meh. |

Re: ($60) AKo on the Bubble, Shortstacked, but one is shorter
You guys are giving him waaaay too much credit. There really aren't many players who are on AQ+, 99+ here. Not many at all. Quit looking for reasons to fold.

You will most likely need to double up at some point so this is it. Call.
