Default Poker question from the BobO/Tokyo homegame

I played in a home game with BobO and Tokyo today. Posting it here because people might actually care here. We (BobO and I) both made at least one big fold preflop, who's fold was better? Was either right?

Hand 1. Laggy Bad Caller (LBC henceforth) with $.05/$.10 blinds makes it $.75 UTG. He's made a big raise like this 3 of the last 4 hands. Tokyo!! has been playing fairly tight but not overly so and has made a few imaginitive plays/bluffs and shove $8.50 into the pot. LBC has like $15, Hero covers. We are playing 7 handed. Hero is right behind with JJ. Action?

Hand 2. This hand occurred 8 handed. UTG raises to $.40. Hero is UTG+1 with AKo and flatcalls. 1 fold, next guy in who is very tight with reraises preflop makes it $2.50. LBC barely hesitates, then makes it $6.50 to go. Big 4-bets preflop are not common for him. Folds back to UTG, who folds. Effective stacks here are like $20-$25. Action?

Edit: in hand 2 UTG is pretty tight
