NL100: AQ w/TPTK in 3bet pot facing turn shove against unknown
AQ gives me problems in 3bet pots primarily because I am not very good at poker. I called because I had position. But if I am calling pf, should I be willing to get it in on this board? Is this a snap call? A fold? With the J on the board I'm thinking I am pretty far behind a 3bet range here unless he is bluff-pushing AK, but I don't know how likely that is.
I am pretty new to SSNL, so please to provide reasoning for your answer. Thanks. Re: NL100: AQ w/TPTK in 3bet pot facing turn shove against unknown
I'd just pitch it preflop most often. u opened utg and he 3bet from the blinds so he's usually got you dominated or worse.
that said, against an unknown I like the flop call and would drop it on the turn since its likely you caught a piece of the flop pretty well and he doesnt expect you to fold. |

I'd just fold preflop as well, unless he's really aggressive. Turn, I think you can let it go.

Re: NL100: AQ w/TPTK in 3bet pot facing turn shove against unknown
I call pre because we have the button and we're closing the action heads-up. Flop I'd raise sometimes because AK is a big part of his range. I dont mind the call in position however. On the turn you beat a bluff, and the rest of his range you either chop or lose. You never scoop against a non-bluff. So I fold.

also if this is being serious:

Against an unknown with I'm tossing it preflop. You don't beat anything but a ridiculously played AK or TT on the turn. Definitely fold there.

Re: NL100: AQ w/TPTK in 3bet pot facing turn shove against unknown
Fold preflop. Reasoning: People don't usually 3-bet utg-raises light from OOP.
Turn is close. Reasoning: You're getting decent odds and we don't have to include many KQs or semibluffing AK/TT/99 for the call to be profitable. Note: Generally you shouldn't call preflop unless you're willing to stack of on this board. |

Or still a fold? |
