Default The Bronx Is Burning ...On Espn

....did anyone else watch this?

I did a search and did not find any discussion on this show.

I enjoyed the first episode. Jason Giambi had a spot as a cab driver.

Even though I grew up in Queens as a Met's fan, I still followed the Yankees.

They did a good job capturing the time period in NY, not just with the Yankees but they seem to have captured the time period well, especially with the .44 calibre killer, AKA the Son of Sam.

Oliver Platt is a horrible actor.

Other than that, I enjoyed the show and will watch again next week

A bad show that I enjoyed. I always wonder how much of these type of movies are fictional and factual. Like did that dude actually trade shirts in the bar like that?

oliver platt is awesome. i was a little confused because i did not expect steinbrenner's characters to be like it was shown. i expected him to be darker and dictatorial, rather spoiled and unpredictable.

giambi's cameo was awesome. (basically, people don't realize but giambi/matsui/arod, are all following what RJ did in '77. come to NY to help them win. the references are so think, you could cut them with a knife.)

berra is awesome.

i liked the real reggie interview at the end. trying to do right by jackson and letting him say his side of the story. ward is an ass. he looks way better in the miniseries than in his interview.

oh yeah, one last thing.

John Torturro STEALS THE SHOW!!! incredibly impressed with how he got Martin's character down. and i thought nothing could top his Knish character.

Reggie to this day denies "I am the straw that stirs the drink" quote, however I give the nod to the author in this instance.

I also enjoyed the

"I'm not coming to New York to become a star, I'm bringing my star with me" quote from Reggie.

Reggie did fascinate me as a young man growing up. He had incredible charisma. People either loved Reggie or hated him.
