Re: 16s: 2 overs and a gutshot, instamuck?
Though generally I don't like semi-bluffing early in SNGs, I push this every time. It's a stupid "probe bet" often enough. It's likely his hand is better than a random hand, but I suppose if you were 100% to get called, he wouldn't have donked. Therefore, you have some folding equity and even a tiny bit will make this work given how many out you have anyway.

I'd shove here, you have good FE vs his weak bet and if he calls you're in decent shape.

Re: 16s: 2 overs and a gutshot, instamuck?
in a cash game i like shoving or big raise but as this is a tournament i like flat call and seeing what he does on turn. check says steal me. pot means you probably have 7 outs against KJ AJ. but the good bet coming from 55 through 99 hoping to show this down is 200 again.
his limp to call and small bet on flop looksg like him having one of these small pockets and putting you on AK or AQ if you flat call and AA KK QQ if you raise. |

he had AJ and called my push. I counted 10 outs, not thinking that he likely has an AJ or KJ. Anyway I caught the Q on the river and did not know if I played it incorrectly.

Re: 16s: 2 overs and a gutshot, instamuck?
People who limp/call for big amounts pf prolly don't understand why to checkraise on the flop.
Usually their bets seem to mean they hit at least a little and want to play the hand. Actually I think a push is fine anyway with this much dead and his small betamount. |
