$60: KQs bubble overcall
I don't know UTG but big stack is a very solid regular and could be pushing fairly wide. Standard right?
Poker Stars No Limit Holdem Tournament Blinds: t300/t600 (Ante: t50) 4 players Converter Stack sizes: UTG: t1370 Button: t2405 SB: t7185 Hero: t2540 Pre-flop: (4 players) Hero is BB with Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] UTG raises all-in t1320, Button folds, SB raises all-in t7135, Hero calls all-in t1890. |

If you think he could be doing this wide then I think it's ok.

Re: $60: KQs bubble overcall
why call here? i know the blinds are high, but why risk it in this situation. I push ATC here, but calling is a little different.

I like it. You're probably beat both of their ranges and if you beat both, this puts you in a position to come back and take first from that bastard. Unless, of course, that bastard is me.

Re: $60: KQs bubble overcall
Now that I think of it, do you really think the BS is doing this wide? He's risking doubling up the small stack and losing his advantage of dominating the bubble. Are you sure your read is right?

The problem is then that no one is that short then and anyone he doubles up after that has an equal stack size to him. At least when I'm dominating a bubble, I'm looking for one person to be really short (like the shortie) and the rest to have medium stack sizes that don't cripple me if they get a monster. I think if I were him, Id be folding anything under 15% or so and let the hero make the decision to call. That way, anything that happens is good for me. If the BB calls and loses, he's the new shortie and I still have a dominating stack. If calls and wins, I'm ITM with a dominating stack. If he folds, then none of the stacks put me in any danger and I can continue pwning. |
