This is probably why I get so much action
Full 20 game. Preflop 3bettor is bigjoet. Limper is some random pretty tight guy. I assumed the limper was more likely to hold 22-88 than AXs. The flop was super dry so I thought taking a 1 bet shot to hope they both fold is worth it once in a while. The only hand I remember showing down was one where I flopped the nuts with AKs.
UTG limps, I raise in lateish MP with KJo, bigjoet 3bets next to act, fold to limper who calls, I call. Flop: A35r Limper checks, I donk Horrible or okay to do now and then? It might be better on like A37 because then the limper won't have a gutshot with 2 other pocket pairs? |

Re: This is probably why I get so much action
It's only good if the 3-bettor will 3-bet you with non-pair, non-ace hands. Because he's not folding a pair or ace to your donk, and once tighty folds behind him, the hand is showdown bound.

i'd be more inclined to check and see if the 3rd guy folds, then c/r.

Re: This is probably why I get so much action
the other guy is more loose passive than you think... and i dunno if he's capable of folding any pair even if you bet through river, so probably good that you gave up after donk..
also, since my read on the guy was more LP, i would 3 bet you more liberally than normally given the same position... i think it's worth a shot too if you have a good read on the villain's range.... it'll proly work against weaktights like me... your donk was suspicious but i just preferred to go against the easy $ at the table instead... u probably wanna balance this play with the line you took against wayne when you flopped an A agaisnt his KK... |

Re: This is probably why I get so much action
Not sure I like this one, though I would like this better if the 3 bettor was in earlier position, as his range becomes far tighter there. I dont know bigjoe, but if he is like most 20 players, his 3 bet range against you would have an Ace in it a lot right?

Re: This is probably why I get so much action
If you usually check raise with the goods here I think it becomes odd. Odd plays cause confusion. Confusion causes light calldowns/raises. Well that is assuming bigjoe is one of the few who actually pays attention.
