4 - 8 Player Tournament - What Tournament Structure To Use ?
Hello.
I have a 500 chip set which is of the following: $1 - 100 $5 - 100 $25 - 100 $100 - 100 $500 - 50 $1000 - 50 What i am wanting to know is. If i have a 4-8 player poker game. What is the best tournament structure for me to follow. Should i start at 25/50 or should i incorporate the $5 chips I am wanting the tournament to be about 1 hour - 2 hours long. With maybe 1 - 2 breaks in between. What do you think ? Thanks. |

Re: 4 - 8 Player Tournament - What Tournament Structure To Use ?
I think you should start smaller, like 5/10. I'm assuming it's a no-limit tourney, so it should move along pretty quickly anyway. (I'm also assuming each player is starting with $1000 in chips.)

Re: 4 - 8 Player Tournament - What Tournament Structure To Use ?
The two common scenarios for your chipset are as follows:
1. 5/10 starting blinds, 1000 or 1500 starting chips 5 - 10 25 - 10 100 - 7 500 - 1 (optional) 2. 25/50, 5000 or 10000 starting chips 25 - 12 100 - 12 500 - 7 1000 - 5 (optional) For an 8 man tourney, 1-2 hours is fairly short so you will need quick levels, the lower end of starting chips and an aggressive structure like: 15 min levels, 1000 chips 5/10 10/20 25/50 50/100 break (get rid of 5 and 25 chips) 100/200 200/400 300/600 500/1000 Should end before here. |
