Default WSOP ME Preparation

this will be my first year of participation, as well as 1st big buy-in event... anyways, i'm thinking of getting a Raymer-esque notepad to take notes on opponents, as well as jotting down some general tournament wisdom to avoid my standard meltdowns.

here are some reminders i might right to myself... any additions?

1. don't go broke with 1 pair
2. don't defend blinds with garbage
3. fold AJ, AQ, and KQ to reraise immediately
4. don't go all-in with no outs
5. don't underestimate opponents
6. be willing to fold AK preflop when appropriate

of course, these rules need to be changed to reflect current M levels, but I'm hoping to play at a nice slow pace.

I think rules like "don't go broke with 1 pair" are pretty dumb. You can't expect to sit back and wait for the nuts to win.

my personal style is to play too aggressively in some spots, so i need to encourage myself to slow down.... other players might need the exact opposite advice.

I really like Danneman's advice from 2 years ago. "folding is never a big mistake" It helps me lay down AK preflop.

Good Luck at this years WSOP.

I hope your rules are generaliized....but the ONLY one that is 100000000% correct is Rule #5

I definitely disagree with these rules as absolutes.

I think that, assuming you open raised, rule 3 is incorrect more often than it is correct depending on table conditions. Once you get under 15 bbs folding to the reraise is unequivocally wrong

my recommendation is to spell correctly so u can read your notes, so i would use write* instead.

These rules are bad IMO, everything is opponent dependent and limiting yourself to rules in poker will mean you will never be an amazing player and when players find out your rules or see you playing this way they will bully you out of every event.
