I don't think anything but a J will stick on the turn if you check/raise (although I doubt if a none J bets this turn a lot) and therefor I don't like check/raising.

You miss value from 2-pair kind of hands and when it gets checked. You give them a free card and you don't build a big enough of a pot vs a J in case you hit the river.

And if hes got a jack then you are freerolling and its a perfect situation.Cant be afraid of the nuts here.
